BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. WHEN YOU MAKE A RESERVATION REQUEST WITH US, THESE CONDITIONS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED BY YOU.

CONTRACT: This rental contract for the letting of the Dale View / Dale Head Cottage is between Julian Harris & Anne Kelly (‘the Owners’) and the person(s) named on the form (‘the Guest’). This contract for a short-term holiday rental and will become effective when the Owners have processed the Deposit and issued the Acknowledgement letter/email and will be subject to and acceptance of the following booking conditions:

 

ACCOMMODATION: Details of those who will be occupying Dale View / Dale Head Cottage must be entered on the Booking form. Dale View / Dale Head Cottage is designed for the comfort of a maximum of 4 people.

 

Breakages and spillages must be reported immediately and a charge may be made. There is no extra charge for electricity or heating. A starter pack of fuel for the woodburner is provided. Additional firewood can be purchased at Threshfield garage and other locations locally.

Duvets and pillows, linen and towels are all provided.

The Owners operate a strict no smoking / no pets policy. If either of these rules are found to have been breached, the entire good housekeeping bond (£80) will be retained. No stag or hen parties are permitted at this property.

PAYMENTS: Payments should be made by bank transfer. A refundable good housekeeping bond of £150 is payable at least two weeks prior to the holiday start date.

For weekly bookings, a deposit of one-third of the rental is payable at the time of booking – the balance is due six weeks before the commencement of the holiday.

For short breaks, a single payment of the full rental is payable at the time of booking.

It should be understood that payment of a deposit constitutes a contract, and a booking is considered confirmed only after we have received the deposit. We will then confirm your booking by email. The balance must be paid no later than 6 weeks before the start of the holiday. In the event of full payment not being received, the Owners will be free to re-let Dale View / Dale Head Cottage. Full payment must accompany bookings made fewer than 6 weeks before arrival.

CANCELLATION: In the event that you are unable to take your holiday, you should inform us immediately by email. If a holiday is cancelled more than 12 weeks before the start date, the full deposit will be refunded (or for short breaks the full amount already paid). If a holiday is cancelled with 6-12 weeks’ notice, only the deposit will be forfeited. If a holiday is cancelled fewer than 6 weeks before the start date, the entire rental fee will be retained. Whilst people holidaying in the UK do not generally take out holiday / cancellation insurance, you may wish to consider doing so.

We will only cancel your holiday if your accommodation is unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We will attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. However, if this is not possible, or is unacceptable to you, the liability of the Owners shall be limited to a full refund of all monies paid. No further liability shall lie with the Owners.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Guest agrees to take good care of the property, to leave it clean and tidy on departure and to pay for any losses or damage to the property. The Owners reserve the right to make an extra charge for cleaning if the property is not left in a satisfactory condition.

The Guest agrees to permit the owners and their agents access to the property and agrees to report any problems immediately so that they can be resolved quickly.

The Owners do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any car or its contents, or for loss or damage by or to third parties.

The Owners do not exclude or limit in any way their liability to the Guest where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by their negligence or the negligence of their employees or subcontractors. In all other cases, the Owners cannot be held responsible for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience suffered by the Guest or to personal belongings whilst in the property or grounds.

The Owners take every care to ensure that Dale View / Dale Head Cottage is maintained to a high standard so that you can enjoy your holiday. If there are any problems, please let us know and every effort will be made to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.
